QuerySocial: Graphical Visualization Tool for Monitoring Users Behavior on Facebook

Abstract

Social media is clearly the largest, richest and most dynamic database on human behavior, bringing new opportunities to understand individuals, groups and societies. Companies today are increasingly using social networks, which have become a powerful marketing tool, to boost their business activities and thereby increase the reach of their brand. Users, who in turn are consumers, use the networks to verify the experience of other users with the desired product or service, evaluating the opinion left by them, and also the reliability of the supplier company, due to the ease and speed with which this information is made available. This work developed an information system to assist the process of checking the impact of a given information and / or marketing action, in addition to allowing comparisons between Facebook pages through the number of storytellers in a given period of time. The methodology involves bibliographic review, development of an information system, and elaboration and discussion of case studies relevant to the impact of marketing strategies involving companies. The QuerySocial program was efficient in the analysis of data referring to storytellers in some examples observed in the case studies. It was observed that the relationship between decline and growth in the degree of popularity of companies, was well represented visually in the graphs of the analysis of the evolution of the amount of storytellers through time.
