Death Rate – Outbreak

This research project (2020–2021) proposed a serious game to explore factors affecting epidemic and pandemic spread. Players would act as public administrators, making simulated decisions on healthcare, education, public safety, and economic policies under infectious-disease scenarios.

The proposal considered variables such as transmission, case fatality, and healthcare-system capacity, illustrating potential consequences of different prevention and response strategies. Its educational aim was to help explain the interdependence and limitations of public-policy decisions, not to claim validated accuracy in modelling a specific pandemic.

According to additional information supplied for this editorial review, the project led to an undergraduate research supervision and a final-year undergraduate project. No individual document or citation has been linked to these outputs in this version, and no quantitative results for the game's educational effectiveness are claimed.
